The Yohimbe Brothers are a rock / electronic fusion band. The members are primarily Vernon Reid of the platinum rock group Living Color, and DJ Logic. In 2004, they were in the studio working on the album, The Tao of Yo. And an impromptu session arose where they were just jamming. They got this hard groove going. So Christian Castagno, one of the producers working on the album, reached out to Ken Omega by phone. And Ken came through that evening. He wrote the verses and laid them that night. Choruses too. Then the song was mixed the next day. The Yohimbe Brothers were signed to a quasi-jazz label called Thirsty Ear at the time. So the Metal Rap promotion machine wasn’t really in place. As a result, this song stayed primarily on the underground.
